ADOPT-A-SITE PROJECTS:

Many thanks to members of Troop 4 & Troop 60 who came out to camp for their annual campsite improvement weekend. Each year, as part of their "free camping weekend" the Scouts and their leaders perform various projects at their adopted site. The projects that were accomplished included:

bulletRepairing, moving, and leveling tent platforms.
bulletStraightening the dining fly outrigger posts that were leaning.
bulletRaking up leaves and debris that accumulated over the winter months.
bulletCleaning out the fire rings.
bulletTrimming branches, trees, and removing brush.
bulletRemoving tripping hazards throughout the campsite.
bulletPainting the doors on the Greenleaf latrine.
bulletRepairing a concrete toilet riser in the Blue Snow latrine.

Also- Recently members of Troop 47 Manheim came to camp and spent the day cleaning and painting the interior walls of Brown Lodge which is their "Adopted Site".  The boys and leaders did an excellent job and the room looks much brighter.  Last year they worked on clean-up around the outside of the cabin, and stained the wood storage shed and latrine.

If you or your unit is interested in adopting a campsite, trail, program area, or other building in camp, please check out the "Volunteer" section of this website for more information. This program not only gives the boys a sense of pride and "ownership" of their camp, but it completes service hours needed for rank advancement, and helps Ranger Dave to get more accomplished throughout camp! Maintaining Camp Bashore certainly requires a team effort by many Scouts and Leaders- and we're grateful for your willingness to help!
