The Adopt-A-Trail / Adopt-A-Site Program is a great opportunity to instill the values of good stewardship into your troop / pack / crew. Not only will they gain service hours towards rank advancement and the TBT service award, but they will learn good conservation practices and take pride in "ownership" of Camp Bashore. With extensive miles of trail systems and acres of campsites, there are plenty of adoption opportunities.

Adopting a Trail or Campsite is easy. Sign up for the area your unit wishes to maintain, and then schedule 1-2 service days per year. We provide the materials and tools, you supply the labor. In exchange for this, your unit will receive 1 FREE WEEKEND of tent camping per year.  It's that easy!

Typical work details include: Clearing brush & limbs from trails, leveling & repairing tent platforms, cleaning out fire rings, litter pick-up, painting picnic tables, staining pavilions & latrines, removing tripping hazards (rocks), installing erosion bars, mulching. Some units have gone above and beyond that by re-roofing the latrine, installing new flagpole, putting curtain partitions in latrine, and raising funds to pay for their improvements.

Adopting a Cabin or Program Area is similar. We are looking for service projects such as spring / fall cleaning, stocking firewood, landscaping, staining/painting, cleaning windows, etc...
