United
Way Day of Caring- 2009
Many thanks to the more than 30 volunteers who
came out to camp for the annual United Way Day of Caring. Each year, civic
groups, corporate groups, and individuals pick and choose from a long list of
projects suggested by the Non-Profit Agencies served by the Lebanon County
United Way. We had four different groups, comprised of Rotarians from the
Lebanon and Northern Lebanon chapters, a group of students from the Rotary Club
of Lebanon Valley College, and some staff / family from the Lebanon County
United Way. After a kick-off breakfast meeting, they arrived at camp ready
and eager to begin their projects. The projects that were accomplished included:
 | Spring Cleaning the Dining Hall kitchen-
walls, floors, appliances, windows, screens, etc.... |
 | Weeding & Mulching the flower beds
surrounding the Dining Hall, Trading Post Courtyard, Ranger Residence, Welcome
Center and Camp entrance Gateway. |
 | Spreading 30 cubic yards of playground mulch
at the COPE Tower, & 2 Dumptruck loads of wood chips at the Vertical Wall
element of the Low COPE course. |
