We are very fortunate to have a large support base of volunteers who help physically and financially to maintain and improve our camp.  These individuals, units, and organizations generously provide thousands of man-hours and dollars as well as materials and equipment each year to help us accomplish more than our budget would normally allow. To those folks- we are extremely grateful.  Please read more about the following programs and organizations to find out how you can help.

PA DUTCH COUNCIL, BSA    The best way you can support Scouting and camping in our council is to contribute directly to the PA Dutch Council- whether through the FOS (Friends of Scouting) campaign, James E. West Fellowship program, or making a donation to on of the Memorial or Endowment Funds. Please visit the PA Dutch Council website to learn more about these and other opportunities to serve the youth of our community. Click on the council strip patch to be redirected to the official council website.

ADOPT-A-TRAIL / ADOPT-A-SITE- This is a program in which a Troop, Pack, or Crew can adopt a building, campsite, or trail by agreeing to spend a minimum of 1-2 service days per year maintaining their chosen area. We provide needed materials and tools- you provide the labor. In exchange, your unit will qualify for one free campsite rental (valued at $25) per year, as well as giving your youth the opportunity to accrue service hours and possibly earn the TBT Service Award. Contact Ranger Dave for more information. Click on the Adopt-A-Trail tab to see who has already adopted a site and which areas are still available.

CAMPMASTER CORPS- This program is an important part of our weekend operation. Campmasters and their families volunteer 1-2 weekends per year to help with check-in / check-out of units, operate the trading post, and optionally a program for the units in camp. The Campmasters stay in the family cabin  which is fully equipped with all the amenities from home. The heated cabin has two bedrooms, bathroom (hot shower) and a large living/dining/kitchen area. There is a TV, VCR, Microwave, Refrigerator, Stove, Oven, Pots & Pans, Dishes, Comfortable Furniture, and a Gas Grill. You just bring your own bedding and food, we provide the rest. If you are interested in learning more about the campmaster program, contact Win Hall at (717) 354-0062 or send an e-mail to Ranger Dave. Click on the Campmaster tab to view the schedule..

ORDER OF THE ARROW- Wunita Gokhos Lodge #39 is the Lodge of our Council. Our Lodge is very actively involved in promoting camping and maintaining both Camp Bashore and Camp Mack, our council's two camps. The lodge holds several service weekends per year as well as raising and donating funds for camperships and special improvement projects. Click on the lodge flap patch to be redirected to the Wunita Gokhos Lodge's website where you can learn more about this organization.

LEBANON COUNTY EAGLE SCOUT SOCIETY- This is a group comprised mainly of adults who are Eagle Scouts who live in or are from the Lebanon County area. In this group you will find  people from all walks of life- whether doctors, politicians, lawyers, school bus drivers, or auto mechanics - all share the same values and enthusiasm for Scouting and its promotion in the Lebanon County area. This group provides camperships to needy youth, funds projects around camp such as remodeling the restrooms in the President's Room, repairing and rebuilding picnic tables, and recently raising funds to dedicate the new Robert L Yates Nature Center.  Click on the Eagle Scout medal to be redirected to the LCESS website for additional information.

FRIENDS OF CAMP BASHORE, INC. - Truly, Camp Bashore would not exist as it does now without the help of this group of dedicated individuals. Formed in 1979, the FOCB has raised and invested in excess of $350,000 and over 16,000 service hours to improve and upgrade Camp Bashore. The FOCB has built two multi-purpose lodges, replaced the chapel, built a shower house, renovated many of the buildings, structures, and facilities, purchased needed equipment such as a new water tank and emergency siren system. Almost any given weekend you will find members of the FOCB working on various projects throughout the camp. In addition to the service work, the FOCB also provides camperships to needy youth. The FOCB is always looking for new members. Membership is comprised of current and former Scouters, professionals and retirees - men and women all dedicated to preserving and improving Camp Bashore.

TBT- THROWING BULL TRIBE- This is an organization that is all about service to the youth and camps of the PA Dutch Council. All members must be currently registered adult Scouters and enjoy fun and fellowship. Loosely based around the principles of the Order of the Arrow, the TBT has been instrumental in many camp improvement projects for Camp Mack and Bashore. Dinner meetings are held bi-monthly with lots of fun, food, and fellowship. The TBT has rebuilt and is currently expanding the archery range at Camp Bashore, and recently purchased a PA system for the Dining Hall. Additionally, the TBT holds many fundraisers throughout the year to help provide camperships and funding for projects and equipment needed at the camps. Contact John Bates (Lebanon Clan Chief) at (717) 865-6831 for more information.

VENTURE CREW 2- is primarily made up of Staff and Alumni of Camp Bashore. Regular fundraisers such as the Benefit Auction and BSR sticker and wrist band sales are held in order to purchase program equipment and improve the camp facilities. Recently the crew renovated the volleyball court by enlarging it, adding sand, new posts and net, as well as night-lighting. They have finished renovations to the "Old Black Joe" homestead- a project  undertaken over the past 3 years to completely rebuild the dilapidated shack of a run-away slave named Joseph Johns who lived on part of the camp property in the 19th century. Crew 2 also built the new "Welcome Center" in the parking lot as well as purchased some new food equipment for the Trading Post. Click on the Venturing Logo to learn more about Crew 2.
