Friends of Camp Bashore OPEN-HOUSE WEEKEND August 13-16 2010
Sponsored by mill creek sportsman association Sunday, October 3, 2010 A benefit ride for Bashore Scout Reservation, (Moonshine Rd., Greenpoint, Pa.) and J. Edward Mack Scout Reservation (Newmanstown, Pa). Both camps are year round Scout camps for youth ages 7 to 18, and young adults to age 21. Your contribution will make a difference in this important program. Ride registration will begin at 9:00 am, and leaves at 11:00 am. Now in it's 5th season, Camp Bashore's Haunted Trail has become a great tradition and activity for everyone! Boy Scout Troops and Venture Crews set up scary stations along trails and in some buildings around camp. Cub Packs & Dens get to go through the trail and enjoy the scary & fun activities followed by a snack around a bon-fire. The event is held no matter what the weather forecast is, since we have the flexibility of using the Barn & Dining Hall. Each year the event grows, and we've had units from all over the PA Dutch Council as well as several from neighboring councils in attendance.
CHAINSAW SAFETY COURSE - NOV 6, 2010 This special BSA training course is being held for any adults who wish to become certified to use a chainsaw on camp property (Bashore or Mack). This is a hands-on course, teaching chainsaw safety, proper cutting techniques, maintenance, and lots more. Lunch will be provided, and the best part is that attendance is FREE!!
